Turkey’s national flag carrier cancels 2 reciprocal flights to Khartoum amid military coup in northeastern African country

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's national flag carrier on Thursday cancelled its reciprocal flights to the Sudanese capital Khartoum amid a military coup in the northeastern African country.
Departure flights from Khartoum airport were on hold and only arrivals are allowed.
The Turkish Airlines cancelled two reciprocal flights -- TK680 and TK681 -- to Khartoum.
Earlier Thursday, the Sudanese army announced the “removal” of President Omar al-Bashir and the imposition of a two-year “transitional phase”.
In a televised statement, Defense Minister Awad ibn Auf also announced the imposition of a one-month curfew -- starting Thursday evening -- and a three-month countrywide state of emergency.
