Turkish Airlines claims Champs-Elysees for Euro 2016

ANKARA (AA) - Turkish Airlines has taken over Paris’ most prestigious boulevard in the run-up to Euro 2016, hanging banners along the Avenue des Champs-Elysees.

The decorations are part of the company’s Meet Europe’s Best campaign in its role as the tournament’s official airline partner, a spokesman for the firm said.

Turkish Airlines has been named Europe’s best airline for the last five years and Euro 2016 gets underway in Paris on Friday.

“Turkish Airlines is delighted to offer this impressive Euro 2016 campaign lining the world’s most beautiful street,” Chief Marketing Officer Ahmet Olmustur said. “Hopefully seeing the banners… will encourage fans from across the continent to engage on social media with #EuropesBest.”

The carrier is screening the competition’s games onboard its flights and in airport lounges. It is the latest sponsorship deal involving the airline, which has also backed football clubs Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund as well as the Euroleague basketball tournament.
