Turkish ambassador meets KRG head in Iraq’s Erbil

ERBIL, Iraq (AA) – The Turkish ambassador to Iraq, Ali Riza Guney, met on Wednesday with the head of the Kurdish Regional Government (KRG), Nechirvan Barzani, in Erbil in northern Iraq.

The meeting was also attended by the Turkish Consul General in Erbil, Hakan Karacay, and head of KRG's Foreign Relations, Safeen Dizayee.

No statement was yet issued by the Turkish Embassy following the meeting.

Guney is expected to meet with other Kurdish officials, including Aydin Maruf, the KRG's Minister of Minority Affairs, during his visit to Erbil.
