ANKARA (AA) – A Turkish lawmaker has made his way into the record books for chairing a marathon parliament session without any breaks.
Levent Gok, one of the four current deputy speakers, led a session of the Turkish Grand National Assembly on Dec. 15 last year for 8 hours and 13 minutes without a break.
The feat has been recognized by Guinness World Records as a “world record for the longest running of a National Assembly.”
Gok spoke to Anadolu Agency on Wednesday and expressed his delight at the achievement.
“I am pleased that I was able to create awareness on behalf of the Turkish parliament in the centennial year of our legislature,” he said.
