ISTANBUL (AA) – Turkish building company Karmod continues to work with the aim of increasing its house and container exports to Yemen, a company official said.

Karmod opened a sales showroom with a dealership system in the capital Sana'a.

Karmod's foreign trade manager, Ziya Yanik, stated that the firm wants to take part in the reconstruction of the country, which is gradually preparing for the post-war period, with its prefabricated structures.

Stating that Yemen needs structures for the tourism sector, primarily for social housing, Yanik said according to the “evaluations we made with our country dealer, the housing deficit in Yemen is quite high.”

The firm believes that its two-bedroom and one-bedroom prefabricated houses will generate interest, he stressed.

“In addition, we have also included in our agenda tourism facility projects in the border regions of the Red Sea,” he noted.

The prefabricated structures for hotels, hostels, timeshare and social facilities in the field of tourism will facilitate the construction processes, he said.

"Another important goal will be our construction site building works for oil extraction facilities in the country," he said.

He added: "Yemen has many fields where oil can be extracted. In these fields, there is a need for many construction sites, especially offices, dormitories and dining halls.”
