ANKARA (AA) – Turkish security forces have “neutralized” two PKK terrorists in Türkiye’s eastern Hakkari province and seized a large amount of arms and ammunition, the Interior Ministry said on Monday.
The terrorists were targeted in the village of Hakkari-Semdinli-Akbal, the ministry said in a statement.
A large amount of arms and ammunition belonging to the terrorist group were also seized, it said, adding that counter-terror operations are under way.
Turkish authorities use the term “neutralized” to imply the terrorists in question surrendered or were killed or captured.
In its more than 35-year terror campaign against Türkiye, the PKK – listed as a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the US and EU – has been responsible for the deaths of over 40,000 people, including women, children and infants.
