Turkish, Indonesian defense chiefs meet in Ankara

Security issues, cooperation in defense industry discussed during meeting

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's defense minister on Friday received his Indonesian counterpart in the capital Ankara, said the Turkish National Defense Ministry.

Hulusi Akar welcomed Prabowo Subianto with a military ceremony before holding a bilateral meeting. They also chaired a delegation-level meeting and exchanged views on bilateral and regional defense, security issues and cooperation in the defense industry.

In a visit to France on Wednesday, the Indonesian minister met with his French counterpart Florence Parly in the capital Paris and discussed the current situation in the Indo-Pacific region.

“Prabowo Subianto and Florence Parly emphasized the importance of maintaining the stability and security in the Indo-Pacific region,” said the Indonesian Ministry of Defense in a statement released on Friday.
