Turkish jets hit targets in SE province

ANKARA (AA) – Turkish jets hit a moving target late Wednesday in the southeastern province of Hakkari, according to the military.

“Based on the evaluation of an instant intelligence feed, fighter jets belonging to the Turkish Armed Forces carried out an airstrike that hit and destroyed a dynamic target spotted in the area,” according to a statement by the General Staff.

The operation was carried out at 7.36 p.m. – 7.57 p.m. local time (1936GMT – 1957GMT) in the rural Cukurca district -- the southeastern extremity -- the statement said.

Turkish warplanes safely returned to base after operation, the military added.
