Turkish opposition head: No need to fear with our party

Turkish people want to live together and in peace, says leader of Turkey's main opposition party

ANKARA (AA) - Turkish people have no reason to fear as long as the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) is still there, the party's leader said on Tuesday.

"We all have worries about the future of Turkey. But let me say this: 82 million citizens of the Republic of Turkey should not begin to worry as long as the Republican People's Party exists," Kemal Kilicdaroglu, chair of the main opposition party, told his party's parliamentary group.

"We all have a hope which we will foster," he added.

Kilicdaroglu said Turkish people want to live together and in peace.

"We want to live in a Turkey where nobody goes to bed hungry," he said.

He added: "The rule of law is the foundation of our wish to live with justice and the rule of law."
