ANKARA (AA) - Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim will meet opposition leaders to discuss the recent terrorist attacks on Wednesday.

Prime Ministry sources told Anadolu Agency that Yildirim, the Republican People’s Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu and the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader Devlet Bahceli will gather in Ankara on Wednesday.

The meeting will start at 10.30 a.m (0730GMT).

Saturday’s twin terror attacks -- one by a bomb-laden car and the other a suicide bomb -- against riot police near Besiktas’s Vodafone Arena killed 44 people and left dozens of others wounded.

The armed group TAK, an affiliate of the PKK terrorist organization, claimed responsibility for the attacks.

Over 1,100 people, including security personnel and civilians, have lost their lives in PKK attacks since the terrorist organization resumed its decades-old campaign in July 2015.

Since July 20, 2015, PKK attacks have left 793 security personnel martyred and 314 civilians dead. Over 4,000 security personnel and over 2,000 civilians have been injured.

In anti-terror operations, more than 10,000 PKK terrorists have been killed or apprehended. Around 5,500 weapons, 652,000 rounds of ammunition, over 142 tons of explosives and 15,000 bombs have been seized.
