ANKARA (AA) - A Turkish police officer who was wounded in a PKK terrorist attack succumbed to his injuries Monday, according to a security source.
On Aug. 26, Ali Mulazimoglu, whose age was not given, was injured in a PKK attack in Turkey's southeastern town of Cizre in the Sirnak province.
The officer died at Gulhane Training and Research Hospital in Ankara, where he had been receiving treatment, said the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking to the media.
In the PKK attack on Aug. 26, at least 11 officers were martyred when PKK terrorists detonated a truck bomb near a security checkpoint in Cizre. Officials said the blast also injured 75 police officers and three civilians.
The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- resumed its decades-old armed campaign in July last year.
Since then, more than 600 security personnel have been martyred and over 7,000 PKK terrorists killed.
