Turkish policeman succumbs to injuries from PKK attack
Policeman was injured by Friday’s PKK attack on police vehicle in Adiyaman province

ADIYAMAN, VAN, DIYARBAKIR, Turkey (AA) - A Turkish policeman, who was injured in a PKK attack in southeastern Adiyaman province on Friday, succumbed to his wounds, a statement said on Saturday.
Taha Uucay -- who was injured in an armed attack by PKK terrorists in Sincik district -- was martyred despite the efforts to save his life at Adiyaman Training and Research Hospital, said the statement by Adiyaman governorship.
Ulucay’s body will be transported to the central Kayseri province for burial, it added.
Meanwhile, Turkish security forces are conducting anti-terror operations across the country to prevent the terror group's attacks.
Four people, who were allegedly planning to join PKK terror group and 2 collaborators trying to take them to the PKK camps, were arrested in an anti-terror operation backed by helicopters in eastern Van province. Later, they were remanded in custody, according to a police statement on Saturday.
Also, in southeastern Diyarbakir province, nine caves and a shelter used by PKK terrorists were destroyed, according to a Diyarbakir governorship statement.
Some 1.7 million cannabis sativa roots and 89 kilograms (196.2 pounds) of marijuana were also seized during the operation, the statement said.
In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- has been responsible for the deaths of 40,000 people, including women, children and infants.
