ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's youth and sports minister welcomed the Norwegian children and equality minister at his office in the capital Ankara on Wednesday.
Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoglu said he was honored to meet with Linda Hofstad Helleland, who also serves as vice president of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
“Our government and parliament have shown their strong commitment to fight doping. Our ministry will set up a committee with the support of academics and experts,” Kasapoglu said.
He also briefed Helleland about the ministry’s duties, mission, and projects, stressing that Turkey is ready to cooperate with Norway in sports matters.
Helleland, for her part, thanked Turkey and the ministry for supporting the agency.
“Turkey has made great efforts in the fight against doping, especially over the last five years. I would like to say that this was welcomed with great appreciation,” she said.
