Turkish stock exchange closes in positive territory

ANKARA (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index jumped 1.90% on Tuesday to a record close of 4,054.67 points.

After starting at 4,005.84 points, the Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index added 75.71 points from Monday's close of 3,978.96 points.

The index also hit an intraday record of 4,100.23 points.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 3.3 trillion Turkish liras ($175 billion) by the close of markets, with a daily trading volume of 80 billion Turkish liras ($4.30 billion).

Gold was at $1,646.50 an ounce, while Brent crude oil was around $92.53 per barrel as of 6.40 p.m. local time (1540GMT).
