Turkish stock exchange ends 4-session winning streak on Thursday

ANKARA (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index closed at 3,142.74 points on Thursday, ending its four-session winning streak.

After starting the day at 3,168.50 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 28.47 points, or 0.90%, from Wednesday's close of 3,171.21 points.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 2.5 trillion Turkish liras ($138 billion) by close, with a daily trading volume of 79.6 billion Turkish liras ($4.4 billion).

One ounce of gold traded at $1,708.00 by market close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude oil decreased 2.85% to $92.82 per barrel as of 18.45 p.m. local time (1545GMT) amid concerns that interest rate hikes in global economies will lead to economic downturns and lower oil demand.
