Turkish stock exchange up at Friday close

ANKARA (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Friday at 2,592.38 points, surging 1.93% from the previous close.

After starting the day at 2,550.67 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 49.05 points from Thursday's close of 2,543.33 points.

On a weekly basis, the BIST 100 index rose over 3% this week.

During the day, the index's lowest value was 2,538.51, while its daily high was 2,593.57.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 2.1 trillion Turkish liras ($115.6 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 32.4 billion liras ($1.8 billion).

One ounce of gold traded for $1,745.00 by market close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude oil was around $105.3 per barrel as of 6.30 p.m. local time (1630GMT).
