Turkish stock market down over 1.5% at Tuesday close
BIST 100 index loses 39 points from previous close

ANKARA (AA) - Turkiye’s benchmark stock index fell 1.54% to end Tuesday at 2,490.24 points.
After starting the day at 2,545.35 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 39.02 points from the previous close of 2,529.26 points.
The index’s lowest value during the day was 2,471.54 points, while its daily high was 2,561.14 points with 19 stocks on the index rose, 79 fell, and two were unchanged compared to the previous close.
The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 2 trillion Turkish liras ($122.6 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 36.1 billion Turkish liras ($2.2 billion).
Shares of insurance company Turkiye Sigorta performed the best with a 5.64% increase, while low-cost carrier Pegasus Airlines saw the biggest drop, 5.11%.
The highest trading volumes were posted by national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, glassmaker Sise Cam, and steel producer Eregli.
One ounce of gold traded for $1,831.10 by market close, down from $1,837.15 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul’s Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.
Brent crude oil sold at around $112.4 per barrel as of 6.00 p.m. local time (1500GMT).
