Turkish stock market up at Friday close

ANKARA (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Friday at 2,516.56 points, up 0.21% from the previous close.

After starting the day at 2,524.49 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 5.19 points from Thursday's close of 2,511.37 points.

On a weekly basis, the BIST 100 index rose 5.63% this week.

During the day, the index's lowest value was 2,497.82, while its daily high was 2,497.82.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 2 trillion Turkish liras ($113.7 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 28.5 billion liras ($1.6 billion).

One ounce of gold traded for $1,743.00 by market close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude oil was at $107.8 per barrel as of 6 p.m. local time (1600GMT).
