Turkish stocks close Monday down

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index ended Monday down 1.11% to close the day at 97,324.00 points.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index started the week at 98,526.43 points. As of the daily close, it lost 1,091.34 points from Friday's close at 98,415.34.

An ounce of gold sold for $1,491.50 at the weekly close in Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, versus $1,490.00 at the previous close.

The price of Brent oil was $58.45 per barrel as of 6.30 p.m. local time (1530GMT) on Monday -- with a daily range hovering between $58.26 and $59.53.
