Turkish stocks down 0.47 pct at close

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index went down 0.47 percent to close at 93,516.96 points on Tuesday.

Starting the day at 93,904.85 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index fell 445.39 points from Monday's close.

By market close, the U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate fell to 5.2380, compared with 5.2390 at close on Monday.

The EUR/TRY exchange rate was 5.9330, as one euro traded for 5.9550 liras at the previous close.

The British pound/Turkish lira exchange rate fell to 6.6960, versus Monday's close of 6.7430.

At daily close, the price of one ounce of gold was $1,224.00 in Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, down from $1,226.30 at the previous close.

Hovering between $59.58 and $61.12 during the day, the price of Brent oil was around $61.07 per barrel as of 6.15 p.m. local time (1515GMT) Tuesday.
