Turkish stocks down at close

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index decreases by 1,000 points from previous close

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index closed the day with a decline of 1.10% at 96,030.47 points on Tuesday.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index started the day at 97.350,59 points. As of closing, it lost 1,070.82 points from Monday's close of 97,101.30 points.

The price of one ounce of gold was around $1,529.70 by market close, up from $1,529.00 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude oil was around $58.87 per barrel as of 6 p.m. (1500GMT) Tuesday.
