Turkish stocks down at daily close

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index went down 1.34% to close at 96,886.48 points on Thursday.

After starting the day at 97,911.90 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index dropped 1,316.72 points from Wednesday's close of 98,203.20 points.

One ounce of gold was sold for $1,276.50 at the daily close in Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets versus the previous close of $1,276.50.

A barrel of Brent oil was sold for $71.73 as of 6 p.m. local time (1500GMT) on Thursday -- with a day range of $71.19 to $72.03.
