Turkish stocks down at Friday’s open

BIST 100 index falls over 24 points from previous close

ANKARA (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 2,547.43 points on Friday, falling 24.13 points, or 0.94%, from the previous close.

On Thursday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed up 1.23% at 2,571.57 points with a daily trading volume of 46.5 billion Turkish liras ($2.7 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 17.1450 as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT) up 0.19% from Thursday’s close.

The euro/lira exchange rate was at 18.2139 for a daily gain of 0.12%, while a British pound traded for 21.3943 liras – a 0.32% down.

Brent crude oil was trading around $122.21 per barrel with a 0.69% loss at the time.
