Turkish stocks flat at daily open

BIST 100 index rises 0.06 pct from Wednesday's close, USD/TRY stands around 5.33

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index rose 0.06 percent or 62.62 points to open at 102,033.90 points on Thursday.

On Wednesday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index climbed 0.23 percent to close the day at 101,971.29 points with a daily trading volume of 6.1 billion Turkish liras (nearly $1.2 billion).

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 5.3330 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) Thursday, compared to 5.3060 at the last close.

The euro/lira exchange rate was 6.0560, versus 6.0210 at the previous close. One British pound was exchanged for 6.9670 Turkish liras, as the GBP/TRY rate was 6.9340 by market close on Wednesday.

The price of Brent oil was around $67.17 per barrel as of 9.50 a.m. local time (0650GMT) Thursday.
