Turkish stocks flat at opening session

Benchmark BIST 100 index drops slightly by 1.3 points

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Friday at 6,139.81 points, down slightly by 0.02%, or 1.34 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed Thursday hitting an all-time high end of 6,141.14 points, up 0.56%, with a daily trading volume of 110 billion Turkish liras ($4.2 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 26.1130 as of 10.15 a.m. local time (0715GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 28.4335, and a British pound traded for 33.2670 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $77.04 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,919.90.
