Turkish stocks higher at Thursday open

ANKARA (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 4,686.54 points on Thursday, up 0.39%, or 18.02 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index ended the midweek up 0.25% to a new all-time high daily close of 4,668.52 points, with a daily trading volume of 139 billion Turkish liras ($7.48 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 18.6219 as of 10.05 a.m. local time (0705GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate was at 19.3222, and a British pound traded for 22.1602 Turkish liras.

International benchmark Brent crude traded at $92.19 per barrel while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,768.95.
