Turkish stocks near 2,200 points at opening
BIST 100 index gains 32.87 points at opening session

ISTANBUL (AA) – Turkey’s benchmark stock index opened at 2,190.61 points on Wednesday, up by 32.87 points, or 1.52%, from the previous close.
The BIST 100 index rose by 2.68% to close Tuesday at a new record of 2,157.74 points, with a daily trading volume of 54.5 billion Turkish liras ($3.8 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 14.5530 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), versus 14.4080 at the previous close.
The euro/lira exchange rate increased to 16.4000 from 16.2830, while a British pound traded for 19.2980 liras, up from 19.1300.
A barrel of Brent crude oil was sold for around $72.9 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
