Turkish stocks on rise at Thursday's close

BIST 100 index rises nearly 960 points from midweek close, USD/TRY exchange rate at 5.7550

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index ended Thursday up 0.89% to close at 108,658.98 points.

Starting the day at 108,260.07 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 957.66 points from the midweek close at 107,701.32 points.

An ounce of gold sold for $1,474.70 at the daily close in Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, versus $1,477.70 at the previous close.

The price of Brent oil was $64.45 per barrel as of 6 p.m. local time (1500GMT) on Thursday, with a day range of $62.74 to $63.9.
