Turkish stocks open Thursday on low note
BIST 100 index falls nearly 3 points from previous close

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey’s benchmark stock index opened at 1,430.88 points on Thursday, posting a decrease of 0.21.%, or 2.97 points, from the previous close.
At Wednesday’s close, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index fell 1.44% at 1,433.85 points, with a daily trading volume of almost 13.08 billion Turkish liras ($1.55 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate increased to 8.4900 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), from 8.4550 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate climbed to 10.0600 from 9.9960, while one British pound traded for 11.7000 Turkish liras, versus 11.6570 on Wednesday.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for $72.8 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
