Turkish stocks open Tuesday in red

ANKARA (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Tuesday at 5,568.10 points, falling 0.37%, or 20.88 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed Monday at 5,588.98 points, up 0.67%, with a daily trading volume of 92 billion Turkish liras ($3.88 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 23.6726 as of 9.54 a.m. local time (0654GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 25.5552 while a British pound traded for 29.7362 liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $72.48 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,976.05.
