Turkish stocks post gains at Wednesday close

ANKARA (AA) – Turkiye's benchmark stock index Borsa Istanbul close Wednesday with gains, rising 0.45% to 2,088.80 points.

Starting the day at 2,092.07 points, BIST 100 index gained 9.42 points from Tuesday's close of 2,079.38 points.

One ounce of gold traded for $1,919.00 by market close, down from $1,931.25 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

Price of Brent crude oil fell to $98.30 per barrel as of 6 p.m. local time (1500GMT) on Wednesday, down nearly 1.5% from the previous close.
