Turkish stocks start week looking up
BIST 100 index gains 16.8 points at opening session

ANKARA (AA) – Turkiye’s benchmark stock index opened the week at 2,089.72 points on Monday, rising 16.79 points, or 0.81%, from the previous close.
The BIST 100 index increased by 0.11% on Friday to close the week at 2,072.93 points, with a daily trading volume of 34.9 billion Turkish liras ($2.5 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was around 13.5700 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), versus 13.5320 at the previous close.
The euro/lira exchange rate stood at 15.4849 from 15.4820, while a British pound traded for 18.5710 liras, down from 18.6020.
Brent crude oil was sold for around $86.37 per barrel as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
