Turkish stocks surpass 111,000 points at close

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index closed the day at 111,207.27 points on Tuesday, up 3.63% from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index started the day at 108,997.50 points. As of the daily close, it earned 3,897.4 points from Monday's close of 107,309.87 points.

The price of one ounce of gold was $1,602 by market close, up from $1,609 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude oil was around $53 per barrel as of 6 p.m. (1500GMT) on Tuesday.
