Turkish stocks up at Friday's open

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 4,875.22 points on Friday, up 0.4%, or 19.31 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index rose by 0.6% to close Thursday at 4,855.92 points, with a daily trading volume of 98.6 billion Turkish liras ($5.3 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 18.6489 as of 10.45 a.m. local time (0745GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 19.7115, while a British pound traded for 22.8542 liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $76.58 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,804.15.
