Turkish stocks up at midweek opening
BIST 100 index gains over 4 points from previous close

ANKARA (AA) – Turkey’s benchmark stock index opened at 1,465.81 points on Wednesday, rising 0.28% or 4.13 points from the previous close.
At Tuesday’s close, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index was up 0.44% to 1,461.69 points, with a daily trading volume of 15.2 billion Turkish liras (nearly $2 billion)
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 8.4350 as of 9:30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), up from 8.4310 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate fell slightly to 9.8860 from 9.8930, while one British pound traded for 11.5920 Turkish liras, down from 11.6230 at the previous close.
One barrel of Brent crude oil was sold for $69.32 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
