Turkish stocks up at midweek's close

ISTANBUL (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended midweek at 5,384.17 points, up 1.30% from the previous close.

Starting the day at 5,337.16 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index earned 69.14 points compared to the Tuesday's close of 5,315.03 points.

The index's lowest value during the day was 5,310.73, while its daily high was 5,424.23.

The total market value of BIST 100 was around 4.36 trillion Turkish liras ($232.3 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 124.12 billion Turkish liras ($6.6 billion).

During the day, 62 stocks on the index rose and 37 fell compared to the previous close.

The price of an ounce of gold was $1,918.60, while Brent crude oil was sold around $87.70 per barrel as of 6.36 p.m. local time (1536GMT).
