Turkish stocks up at Tuesday's open

ANKARA (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 5.408.80 points on Tuesday, up 0.31%, or 16.89 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index jumped 3.41% to close Monday at 5,391.91 points, with a daily trading volume of 137 billion Turkish liras ($7.36 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 18.6479 as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 19.7595, and a British pound traded for 22.6480 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $80.27 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was at $1,802.10.
