Students of Turkey's Ege and Katip Celebi University visited AA as part of 'Young Communicators Meeting'

ANKARA (AA) – Students of Turkey's Ege and Katip Celebi University visited Anadolu Agency head office in Ankara Monday as part of a "Young Communicators Meeting" organized by the Turkish Directorate of Press and Information.

AA Corporate Communication Director Esra Kirecci informed the communication department students about the agency’s history, organizational structure, activities and programs.

Kirecci informed them that AA continues to boost its activities worldwide with its broadcasts in 11 languages and news photographs.

AA offices are present in 34 countries, while correspondents are in 86 countries, she said

"We have foreign national staff members from 87 different nationalities. We can call it [the agency] as a little UN," Kirecci said.

She said 40 percent of news stories appearing on Turkish newspapers and 63 percent of their photographs were being provided by Anadolu Agency.

AA News Academy Coordinator Umit Sonmez also informed the visitors about the academy's history and goals.

Students also visited the Directorate of Press and Information earlier Monday.
