'Türkiye as a Stabilizing Power in an Age of Turmoil': Turkish official's book published in Azerbaijani language

ANKARA (AA) - Türkiye's Communications Director Fahrettin Altun's book on Türkiye’s role in the global world order has been published in the Azerbaijani language.

Published by the Azerbaijan Center for the Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center), the book, Türkiye as a Stabilizing Power in an Age of Turmoil, was introduced in Baku on Wednesday.

The launch event – which began with a moment of silence for the Azerbaijani soldiers who lost their lives in the recent escalation with Armenia – was attended by Türkiye's Ambassador to Azerbaijan Cahit Bagci, head of AIR Center Ferit Sefiyev, academics and others.

Setting out President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s basic parameters of foreign policy, the book analyzes Türkiye’s role in the global system over the past two decades and the challenges it has faced.

Speaking at the event, Bagci said President Erdogan's remarks that the "world is bigger than 5," which refers to five members of the UN Security Council, were discussed in the book and analyzed in a broader framework.

Criticizing the current global system for being far from providing peace, security and justice, he said it does not have the power to address new problems, let alone solve the existing ones.

Sefiyev said Türkiye's foreign policy has changed radically in the last 20 years, and that Türkiye is now conducting an independent foreign policy.

The book was published in English in December 2021 by Academica Press, which is based in London and Washington DC. It will be released in the Turkish language next month.
