Turkiye condemns terror attacks in Somalia

ANKARA (AA) - Turkiye on Sunday condemned recent terror attacks in Somalia that led to multiple casualties.

“Ankara is saddened to receive the news that six people lost their lives and four children were wounded in two separate terror attacks which took place on April 22 in Mogadishu,” according to a statement from the Turkish Foreign Ministry.

It extended condolences to the people of Somalia and its government and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

"Turkiye will continue to stand by Somalia in its fight against terrorism," it added.

In addition to the dead, more than seven others were wounded Saturday when a heavy explosion targeted a restaurant in Mogadishu’s Lido Beach.

Separately, another terror attack hit the Mogadishu Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital in the capital the same day.

Four children were injured in that attack.
