Türkiye's automotive production jumps 24% in January

Automakers manufactured more than 111,800 vehicles last month, sectoral report shows

ANKARA (AA) – Türkiye's overall automotive production jumped 24% from a year earlier in January, according to the country's Automotive Manufacturers Association (OSD) on Monday.

Automakers in Türkiye manufactured a total of 111,837 vehicles last month, including automobiles and commercial vehicles, a report from the OSD showed.

The country's automotive exports also soared 17% year-on-year to 79,381 units in January, generating $2.8 billion of income.

The country's overall auto sales market grew 35% to 53,509 units in the same period, the report said.

Passenger car production advanced 48% on an annual basis to 70,723 in January.

Top international automakers – including Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Mercedes, Renault and Toyota – have factories in Türkiye, one of the world's top auto sales markets.
