Türkiye's automotive production up 6% in 2022

Turkish automakers manufactured more than 1.35M vehicles last year, shows report by sectoral association

ANKARA (AA) – Türkiye's overall automotive production grew 6% year-on-year in 2022, a report by the country's Automotive Manufacturers Association (OSD) revealed.

Automakers in Türkiye manufactured over 1.35 million vehicles last year, including automobiles and commercial vehicles, showed the report released on Sunday.

Nearly 72% of all vehicles manufactured were exported in 2022, a 4% rise from a year earlier to 970,124 units.

Türkiye earned $31.4 billion from vehicle exports in 2022, up 6% from the previous year.

The country's overall auto sales market grew 7% on an annual basis to 827,147 units, the report said.

Passenger car production also increased 4% to 810,889 units last year.

Top international automakers – including Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Mercedes, Renault and Toyota – have factories in Türkiye, one of the world's top auto sales markets.
