Turkiye’s BIST 100 index down at Monday open

BIST 100 index loses over 34 points from previous close

ANKARA (AA) – Turkiye’s benchmark stock index opened at 1,918.31 points on Monday, down 34.09 points, or 1.75%, from the previous close.

The BIST 100 index closed Friday with a 5.46% gain at 1,952.40 points.

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was down 0.6% to 13.97 as of 10.30 a.m. local time (0730GMT).

The euro/lira exchange rate rose 0.36% to 15.6265, while the British pound traded for 18.6880 liras, up 0.88%.

The price of gold was at $1,896 per ounce for a 0.36% increase at the time.

International benchmark Brent crude traded at $97.79 per barrel – a 3.9% daily gain.
