Turkiye's BIST 100 index down at Thursday open

BIST 100 index drops by some 6.5 points from previous close

ISTANBUL (AA) – Turkiye’s benchmark stock index opened at 1,995.68 points on Thursday, down 6.56 points, or 0.33%, from the previous close.

The BIST 100 index was down by 13.19 points, or 0.65%, to close midweek at 2,002.24 points, with a daily trading volume of 27.3 billion Turkish liras ($2 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 13.6170 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), from 13.5410.

The euro/lira exchange rate climbed to 15.3730 from 15.3090, while a British pound traded for 18.4505 liras, up from 18.4190.

Brent crude oil sold for around $89.3 per barrel as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
