Turkiye's BIST 100 index down at Tuesday's open

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 2,150.96 points on Tuesday, down 24.07, or 1.11%, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 1.43% to close on Monday at 2,175.03 points, with a daily trading volume of 26.4 billion Turkish liras ($1.8 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 14.8250 as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT), from 14.8210 at Monday's close.

The euro/lira exchange rate decreased to 16.2450 from 16.3650, while a British pound traded for 19.4550 liras, down from 19.6050 at the last close.

Brent crude oil was sold for around $118.5 per barrel as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
