Türkiye's BIST 100 index up at close

Benchmark index gains 26.3 points at midweek's close

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended at 6,368.35 points Wednesday, up 0.41% from the previous close.

Starting the day at 6,606.21 points, the Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 26.3 points from Tuesday's close.

The lowest value of the index during the day was 6,315.43, while its daily high was 6,436.83.

The market value of BIST 100 was around 5.75 trillion Turkish liras ($213.77 billion) by market close.

The daily trading volume was 132.95 billion Turkish liras ($5.08 billion).

Forty-four stocks gained value while 55 lost.

The price of an ounce of gold was $1,974.45, while Brent crude oil sold for $82.80 per barrel as of 6.25 p.m. local time (1525GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 26.9500, the euro/lira exchange rate was 29.8590 and the British pound traded at 34.8385 Turkish liras.
