Turkiye's BIST 100 index up at midweek's open

ANKARA (AA) - Turkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 2,425.36 points on Wednesday, rising 7.06 points, or 0.29%, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed on Tuesday with sizeable losses, down 2.59% to 2,418.30 points, with a daily trading volume of 48.1 billion Turkish liras ($3.2 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 14.8070 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT), up from 14.8050 at Tuesday's close.

The euro/lira exchange rate dropped to 15.7324 versus 15.7710, while a British pound traded for 18.6211 liras, down from 18.7440 at the last close.

Brent crude oil was up 1.1%, sold for around $102.83 per barrel as of 10 a.m. local time.
