Turkiye's BIST 100 index up at Thursday's open

BIST 100 index gains 23.24 points from previous close

ISTANBUL (AA) – Turkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 2,009.33 points on Thursday, up 23.24, or 1.17%, from the previous close.

The BIST 100 index rose 0.82% to close at 1,986.09 points on Wednesday, with a daily trading volume of 31.9 billion Turkish liras ($2.3 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate increased to 14.1280 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), from 14.0930 at Wednesday's close.

The euro/lira exchange rate also rose to 15.6850 from 15.6400, while a British pound traded for 18.9350 Turkish liras, up from 18.8570 at the last close.

Brent crude oil sold for around $116.85 per barrel as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
