Turkiye's BIST 100 index up at Tuesday's open

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 1,969.13 points on Tuesday, up 22.94, or 1.18%, from the previous close.

The BIST 100 index was down 0.32% to close on Monday at 1,946.19 points, with a daily trading volume of 31.9 billion Turkish liras ($2.3 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 13.8970 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), from 13.8010 at Monday's close.

The euro/lira exchange rate also increased to 15.5560 from 15.4910, while a British pound traded for 18.6370 liras, up from 18.5660 at the last close.

Brent crude oil was sold for around $99.90 per barrel as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
