Turkiye’s BIST 100 index up at Wednesday open

BIST 100 index gains over 24 points from previous close

ANKARA (AA) - Turkiye’s benchmark stock index opened at 2,036.27 points on Wednesday, up nearly 25 points, or 1.24%, from the previous close.

The BIST 100 index was up 0.7% to close Tuesday at 2,011.35 points, with a daily trading volume of 37.4 billion Turkish liras ($2.6 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 14.5802 as of 10.09 a.m. local time (0709GMT), up from Tuesday's close of 14.5340.

The euro/lira exchange rate rose to 15.9308 from 15.8540, while one British pound traded for 19.1272 liras – up from 19.0990 on Tuesday.

The price of Brent crude oil was up nearly 2% to $130.5 per barrel.
